To say that the Ryzen 3000 is a success is nothing new for anyone. Still, realizing that market share has disappeared from the hands of Intel, to appear in the hands of AMD in 2019 is undoubtedly very interesting and important to know.
That said, the agency Mercury Research claims that AMD's growth continues in three super important markets, notebooks, desktop and servers. What we can add to the record of nine consecutive quarters of growth for the company.
AMD continues to steal Intel's market sustainably
Therefore, in order to be aware of AMD's growth, the company was able to increase its customer base in the notebook market by 50%, reaching a share of 16.2%. However, in the world of desktop processors, we have an increase of 2.4% over the previous quarter, thanks to the arrival of the highly anticipated Ryzen 9 3950X, which gives a total market share of 18.3%.
Finally, in the server world, the second generation of EPYC processors is even selling significantly faster compared to the first generation. But here we have to take into account that it is a very slow market to adopt the new trends… Therefore, we have an additional 1.4%, which gives a total of 4.5% of market share.
Attention, in these accounts we are not counting on the processors produced for the current and next generation consoles, nor on other SoCs for IoT products, etc…
In short, we hope that AMD will be able to maintain this level in 2020, in order to keep Intel on tiptoes. Competition is necessary in this market, but it is also necessary that Intel does not fire any more bullets at its feet-
