AMD is finally preparing its attack on the lowest end of the graphics card market with the Navi 14 GPU-based Radeon RX 5500. After all, marketing material has already reached the Internet, with the company suggesting that this It is a "Performance" board.
In fact, performance will not be lacking in this new graphics card… It's that the new AMD Radeon RX 5500 competes directly with the GeForce GTX 1650, pocketing it very easily.
AMD Radeon RX 5500 will be more powerful and cheaper than GTX 1650
Therefore, the new Navi 14 GPU will offer 22 RDNA 22 compute units for a total of 1408 stream processors, 4 / 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus which in turn should be capable of 224GB / s. At the frequency level, the GPU will reach 1670MHz in game mode and 1845MHz in boost mode.
Interestingly, AMD compares its new 'budget' graphics card with GeForce GTX 1650 in a hugely popular series of games… And of course, AMD's offer wins with a (average) 49% advantage over what NVIDIA offers . (Games like Far Cry New Dawn, Battlefield V and GTA V)
To get a sense of pure and tough performance, in the super popular eSports games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Overwatch and PUBG, we're looking at a nearly 40% advantage over NVIDIA's GTX 1650.
In short, AMD is expected to launch its new card with the price of ~ 150 €. Which is great for those who want a good graphics card without having to spend a lot of money. Unfortunately, however, it leaves a large gap in the market, as there is no rival for the NVIDIA Turing GeForce GTX 1660 yet… For now! After all, there is probably also an RX 5600 in the oven.
