CoD: Modern Warfare – Activision is not having a good time after all that has been going on with Blizzard. So it is trying to be 'beautiful' in the eyes of gamers, trying to pull the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare out of all this crisis.
That said, there has been a lot of doubt about Modern Warfare's monetization strategy, but calm down… Activision has already gone public to explain a little bit about how things will be after launch. And the news is even very positive.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare won't have loot boxes or micro-transactions, but will have a Battle Pass
Therefore, the monetization plan has been quite consistent in recent editions of Call of Duty. The game hits the market without micro-transactions or loot boxes, has good reviews… And then, after a few months, Activision sets up shop in front of the game menu with micro-transactions, DLCs and loot boxes.
So when Infinity Ward went public that they had no loot box system in the game, many skeptics doubted the claim. However, now it was Activision's own turn to rest the players.
Thus, in a post on its own Blog, the team behind Call of Duty announced the new strategy for the 'popular' FPS game 'reboot'. Saying they will bet on a new Battle Pass, leaving out the loot boxes.
In addition, it has also been confirmed that all content that may impact player performance, such as weapons and add-ons, will be unlocked by playing the game itself.
In short, Modern Warfare will actually have a store, but it will be only and only for cosmetic items.
A very interesting move by Activision, which has been trying to be better for the end consumer. With all the maps being free, cross-play introduction, good and lots of updates, etc… Is Activision sick !? :THE
