This Tuesday (25), it was confirmed the first case of infection with the new coronavirus in Brazil. The patient, a 61-year-old resident of São Paulo, was in Italy between 9 and 21 February. He is in good health, but has been isolated for security.
Brazil is the first country in Latin America to have confirmation of a case of the new virus, which has already infected more than 80,000 people worldwide, killing more than 2,700 of them. The Ministry of Health reported that the 20 suspected cases in the country are from patients who recently came from Italy, where the disease comes from spreading out.
