There was an avalanche of rumors and leaks about this equipment, but now everything is official – Vivo's sub-brand focused on the gaming segment revealed the new iQOO 3 5G smartphone. It features the Snapdragon 865 processor, liquid cooling technology, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, many software adjustments for players and ultra-fast loading, so you can carry out long gaming sessions without having to plug it in.
The vivo iQOO 3 5G has a 6.44 ”Super AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution. There is a fingerprint scanner under the screen, while in the upper right corner of a hole is the 16MP selfie camera. The brand calls the screen “Polar View Display” and can achieve up to 1200nits of brightness in some scenarios and supports the playback of HDR10 + content. It comes with a 180Hz refresh rate, which is incredible, but the standard refresh rate is 60Hz.
The new smartphone has four cameras at the rear, a Sony IMX582 main unit of 48MP f / 1.8, which is accompanied by a 13MP f / 2.46 telephoto camera, a 13MP f / 2.2 ultra wide-angle camera and a sensor 2MP depth.
One of the main highlights around iQOO 3 is its 5G connectivity. It is true that there are not yet in many countries, such as Portugal or Brazil, or even in the country where the smartphone will arrive first and where it was presented, in India, but when the 5G arrives, whoever buys the smartphone is already prepared to the best speeds.
The vivo iQOO 3 5G comes with 55W Super FlashCharge features, the company claims that it can charge 50% of the 4,440 mAh battery in JUST 15 minutes, which is incredible.
The user interface on the phone is called iQOO UI 1.0, a new interface based on Android 10, and brings the Ultra Game Mode, which allows you to block notifications and calls during games to minimize distractions and focus on what's really important.
It also has two keys on the sides, which the company calls Monster Touch buttons. There are vibrations from 4D games that simulate recoil when firing a weapon during the game. Holding down both keys can activate Monster Mode, which puts the processor to 100% operation, which can minimize the delay on some occasions, but will certainly overcharge the battery.
Vivo iQOO 3 will come in three versions – 8 / 128GB LTE which costs INR36,990 (€ 475) and 8 / 256GB LTE for INR39,990 (€ 512). The third option is the only one enabled for 5G, comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and will be INR44,990 (€ 575).
Interestingly, all iQOO 3 phones are ready for 5G in China and the memory versions are slightly different. Here is the complete price list: the 6/128 GB version costs CNY3,598 (€ 475), the 8/128 GB version is CNY3,798 (€ 500), the 12/128 GB version is CNY3,998 (€ 525) and the 12/256 GB option is CNY 4,398 (€ 575).
