Shannon Briggs was involved in a furious behind-the-scenes fight at the KSI vs. Logan Paul weigh-in.
The former heavyweight champion was filmed hitting another man – allegedly a member of Badou Jack's team – in the face.
This was after Briggs was seen in other images grabbing a man by the neck.
The former pro wrestler is acting as Paul's coach in his debut in professional boxing, which is a rematch of the amateur fight that broke the Internet last year.
Briggs was also seen colliding with KSI coach Viddal Riley after the weigh-in was completed. The pair suffered harsh criticism throughout the process, with Riley – a professional cruising weight – mocking the 47-year-old past drug ban.
After the weigh-in, Riley had to be fought by three security personnel while trying to retaliate with Briggs.
Prosecutor Eddie Hearn downplayed the incident and insisted they were just "scholarships."
Speaking with Behind the glovesHearn revealed that Briggs had clashed with a member of Jack's team before the weigh-in and clashed with Riley afterwards.
"I think you can imagine who it was," he joked.
“I think it was Shannon Briggs and Viddal Riley having a fight before the fight.
“That was originally, so there was something else there.
“Everything was fine, they were just bags.
"The problem is that it is everyone's duty to overdo things.
“When you overdo things, you push people to the limit so that everyone wants hype and drama, but eventually these guys like Shannon – even KSI and Logan Paul, who aren't fighters, are at the point where they can explode.
"It's almost the perfect time to make the fight happen – that is, tomorrow.
“Maybe that was a little early, but I just want to start the fight now. We had a confrontation between KSI and Logan now and it was a little … [nervous] and these are not real fighters. If they are true fighters, they would have done it by now. "
