Manchester United star Paul Pogba has met with Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane in Dubai after months of speculation about their union at the Bernabéu, Express Sport may unveil exclusively.

The French midfielder, who is currently struggling from an ankle injury and traveled to Dubai for a warm rehab during the international break, was caught talking to Zidane after the two met on the beach on Sunday night with the Los Blancos manager having attended a conference in the area.

The pair engaged in a 10-minute conversation, which will surely fuel more rumors about Pogba's possible transfer to the Bernabéu.

Express Sport understands that Zidane still interested in signing Pogbahaving lost the Red Devils ace in the summer.

La Liga giants spent more than £ 300m on newcomers before the current campaign, but failed to push Pogba out of Old Trafford, with United insisting that the 26-year-old was not for sale for anything less than £ 150m. .

Real are believed to have offered a fee of £ 27.6 million, plus James Rodriguez, for Pogba, but that did not meet United's assessment of his star.

Juventus were also keen to re-sign the former player, who has been constantly criticized for his actions on and off the field since returning to United for £ 89m in 2016.

Pogba has two years plus the option of another 12 months under his current contract, which means the Red Devils are firm in their desire to get value for money.

Pogba sparked controversy by suggesting he was ready for "a new challenge" in the middle of the summer transfer window.

He cast further doubt on his future by suggesting a "question mark" about his plans, although he played a prominent role in United's opening Premier League win against Chelsea.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola also shook things up by declaring his client's desire to leave United in the past.

The United star is currently recovering from an ankle problem and has been spotted on crutches and cast during his conversation with Zidane.

He will miss United's confrontation with Liverpool on Sunday, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer updating the media about his fitness this week.

When asked about Pogba, Solksjaer said: “No chance [of Pogba being fit for Liverpool].

“Paul suffered an injury, came back, worked hard. He came back and played a few games, maybe played through the pain barrier.

"We did a scan after the game with Arsenal and he needed a few weeks rest so I hope he doesn't take too long. But he won't do this game, no."

As for Zidane, the Los Blancos coach has made a positive start in his current campaign with his La Liga team after five wins in eight games.

But the Frenchman is still looking for reinforcements before the January window while trying to bolster an aging squad.

Zidane used the international range to offer his experience to the Dubai Sport Artificial Intelligence Conference.

And the 47-year-old could be setting the stage for another attempt to sign Pogba after the couple's Middle East reunion.
