Remember we said MSI had leaked a BIOS update that would bring over 100 modifications / enhancements to the super popular AMD Ryzen 3000?
Well, it seems it's time to go to your motherboard manufacturer's download page, and start loading into F5 as if your life depended on it! The BIOS versions with the AGESA 188.8.131.52 micro code are just coming!
The first beta versions of BIOS with AGESA 184.108.40.206 micro code have just arrived on the Internet! Firstly by ASUS and ASRock
Therefore, the latest BIOS has been designed with AMD Ryzen 3000 processors in mind. So if you happen to have a Ryzen 1000 or 2000, it is not worth worrying about all this.
However, you need to keep in mind that these BIOSes are still beta versions, which although they bring some new features to your machine, may also bring some instability.
That said, the upgrade to motherboards ASRock is now available on the German JZ Electronic sales website. Where we can even see X470, B450 and X370 cards in the list. However, in the case of ASUS, only the X570 ROG Strix (AND, F, I) are receiving the update.
New Microcode Improves 'Boost' Performance of Ryzen 3000 Processors
Although we have known for a long time that AGESA 220.127.116.11 brings 100 more modifications. The truth is that the most interesting is the bug fix that affected the Boost frequency of the latest Ryzen processors. Thus, on average, it should be possible to gain a performance increase of around ~ 2%. (Depending on the processor in question.)
Interestingly, anyone who has tested the new BIOS states that there is no difference in the BIOS. Not even any changes that come into view to identify such '100 changes / optimizations'.
